TEACHING

Boutris is also a committed private teacher— In June 2022 Boutris’ students received several prizes at the International Clarinet Associations student competitions: 1st/3rd prizes in the High School Division, and 1st prize in the College division. Boutris teaching history also includes private students in the Juilliard Pre-College and the Undergraduates at Yale University. Guest teaching engagements have included classes/lessons at Boston University, Bard College/The Orchestra Now, and Indiana University.

With students Nathan, Taig, and Chris at ICA 2022 in Reno. Taig won 1st prize in the college division. Chris and Nathan won 1st and 3rd prize in the high school divison.

Boutris began formally teaching in 2018, since then:

• 5 students have attended Juilliard

• 2 students have attended Harvard

• 2 Students have attended Princeton 

• 1 Student has attended Columbia 

• 4 students have attended Northwestern 

• 6 students have attended NYO 

• 3 students have won ICA grand prizes 

HS alumni have also continued their success into college earning fellowships to Tanglewood, Aspen, Colorado College Music Fest, Notional Orchestral Institute, Sarasota Music Festival, Lake George Music Festival, and the New York String Orchestra Seminar. Aside from musical success several students have gone on to earn jobs in the Journalism, Tech, Finance, and Medical Fields.

My very first student, Miles. I "discovered" Miles through a Yale program that provides free classes to inner city/Title I schools in New Haven. After attending Bard/winning their concerto competition he now attends Juilliard.
